New Year, New Trips!

Happy belated new year, everyone! It's been a busy month for me because we are officially less than 30 days from tying the knot and I'm still trying to secure the basics for our ceremony! Here's a recap for anyone that is lost:

My fantastic fiance proposed at Epcot (Disney World) on our trip in September 2016. You can find more details about that wonderful day on this blog post. We discussed lots of ideas and finally decided to plan a destination wedding in Laguna Beach, California and set a date for February 28, 2017. Laguna Beach was selected for its beautiful ocean backdrop and stunning public beaches and also came highly recommended by our wedding coordinator at LiveLoveElope. As of now, we will have six attendees at our ceremony (four friends and my fiance's parents) and we are ridiculously excited for the big day.

But how does this tie into Disney? This is a Disney blog, right? Glad you asked.

I am very happy to announce that we will finally be staying on-site at a Disneyland hotel and we are spending two days at Disneyland after our ceremony! And the fun doesn't stop there - 58 days after we return home from the wedding, we will be headed out to Orlando for a week in the Disney World bubble! If you browse any Disney forums or social media groups, you may hear the term 'bubble' pretty often; this means that we'll be staying on-site at Disney World without a rental car and will be relying on Disney transportation to get to the parks and Disney Springs. This is our first time with this experience and I'm very excited to fully immerse myself in the magic. I'm a little nervous too - in past trips I've found it necessary to venture off Disney property for medicine and band-aids but I'm hoping that I'll be prepared on this trip and not need those things.

UPCOMING TRIPS

DISNEYLAND
When: February 27 - March 3
Lodging: Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel
Dining: Steakhouse 55, Cafe Orleans, Carthay Circle Restaurant
Special Events: AP Days (won't affect us because we aren't annual passholders but we have friends that may join us and could potentially snag us some great AP-only souvenirs!) and the return of the Main Street Electrical Parade

Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel

DISNEY WORLD
When: May 2 - May 9
Lodging: Boardwalk Inn
Dining: Tokyo Dining, Via Napoli, Be Our Guest lunch, Liberty Tree Tavern, Kona Cafe, Yachtsman Steakhouse, and currently deciding between Boma breakfast or a Sanaa lunch (please send suggestions!)
Special Events: Flower & Garden Festival at Epcot - still waiting on news about Rivers of Light and Pandora at Animal Kingdom

Disney's Boardwalk and Boardwalk Inn

I've still got to tie up loose ends from our last trip - primarily with a post about the Halloween Horror Nights at Universal, Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, Epcot Food & Wine Festival, and the food at Universal so I am making a commitment right now that those things will be posted before we leave on the next trip!

I think 2017 is going to be a great year - please share your trip plans and let me know if I can help!
